LUX 4
Individual project
2021 — 10 weeks
LUX4 is a 4-in-1 lighting tool with essential features required by forensic investigators.
Today, the police look for evidence on their knees while moving a small flashlight over the floor. The modular design of LUX4 allows the police to put down and control 360° light modules to illuminate the scene and give them an overview of the evidence on the floor.
Besides forensic investigation, LUX4 can be used as a flashlight, stroboscope, or siren to seamlessly integrate into the existing workflows of patrolling police officers.

How might we improve the process of lighting up evidence for the patrolling police officer?
During this project, I put an intense focus on interating and went back and forth between 2D and 3D prototyping which allowed me to continuously validate the ergonomy of the concept.
Throughout the project, there was a constant involvement of the police which gave me valuable feedback and the possibility to role-play my concept.
